Is Gœttweiger Berg Pinot Noir a good wine?
What reviewers say
“Austrian Pinot Noir from north-east part of Austria (Stift Gottweig, very close Vienna) on the southern bank of the Danube River. Winery mostly focusing on Gruner Veltliner and Pinot Noir is only 3% of their production. A:Pale Ruby N: Reb berries, cherries, oak, cinnamon, vanilla P: off-dry (some residual sugar), low tannins, medium acidity, finish and alcohol (13%) Good wine. Fun fact: The visual on the cap is from Paul Troger’s ceiling fresco in stift gottweig benedictinee monastery.”
From a top-rated Vivino review for this bottle.
Summary
Medium ruby-garnet colour with delicate lightning at the rim. In the nose, cinnamon, vanilla and a fine confit of red berries. Elegant and juicy on the palate, with good length in the finish.
