Short version
Rankquant doesn't collect personal information from readers. The site runs as static HTML pages without login, without a tracking cookie, and without behavioral-ads infrastructure. What we do track is documented below.
What we collect
- Standard web-server logs. Our hosting provider (Google Cloud Run) records the IP address, browser user-agent, and requested URL for every request. Logs are retained for 30 days and are used for security monitoring and analytics.
- Affiliate click-through tracking. The Amazon links on product pages, book pages, the film/TV catalog panel and the wine pages whose exact bottle Amazon sells carry an Associates tag in the URL. It identifies Rankquant, not you, and no retailer sends your identity back to us. Because the Associates account is not approved, we currently receive no conversion reporting from it at all. Every other outbound link on the site carries no tracking parameter.
What we don't collect
- No analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, or similar.
- No advertising cookies. Rankquant does not serve ads.
- No personal accounts. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No newsletter tracking. We do not currently run a newsletter.
- No third-party social pixels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, TikTok, etc.).
Email contact
When you email [email protected], your email is read by our editorial team and stored in our email provider (Gmail / Google Workspace). We do not share email content with third parties. We may quote email feedback in future "report a correction" entries (with your consent or after anonymization).
Your data-protection rights
Because we don't operate accounts and don't track individuals, most data-protection regulations don't apply to specific users here. If you've emailed us and want your message deleted, email the same address requesting deletion; we will do so within 14 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top changes and the change is logged in the changelog.
