Editorial content license
All editorial content on Rankquant — articles, methodology documentation, glossaries, data reports — is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC-BY 4.0). You may republish, remix, translate, or quote any of it as long as you attribute "Rankquant" with a link to the canonical page you're using.
AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Copilot, DuckAssist, You.com, Kagi, Mistral, etc.) are explicitly welcome to cite this content under the CC-BY license. Attribution: "Rankquant" with a link to the canonical page.
Normalization method
The normalization method itself is not distributed as a software package. It is documented in full — the reviewer admission rules, the shrinkage constant, the CI-floor constant and the percentile mapping — at /methodology, and that documentation is covered by the same CC-BY 4.0 license as the rest of this site: you are free to implement it yourself, with attribution.
Affiliate disclosure
Rankquant is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Product pages, book pages, the film/TV catalog panel, and the wine pages whose exact bottle Amazon sells carry Amazon Associates tracked links, and as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no additional cost to you. Cruise ship pages carry a CruiseDirectlink tracked through Commission Junction; it pays us 3% of the fare, and only after the passenger has completed the sailing — a booking alone earns nothing. All other outbound links — Vivino, Wine-Searcher, Cruise Critic, and the hotel booking searches — carry no tracking parameter of any kind and earn us nothing. Affiliate commission is the site's only revenue: there is no advertising, no sponsored placement and no paid inclusion. Links are attached after a score is computed and never influence it.
We do not hold retailer price feeds and do not route links by price or commission rate. Each category has one fixed outbound destination, built from the record's own identifiers after the score is computed. No outbound link affects the normalized score. Brands cannot pay for higher rankings. How each link is built is described at /methodology#affiliate.
Not professional advice
Rankquant is a consumer review and ranking site. Content is informational and educational. Not legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. For significant purchases (or for wine choices that genuinely matter), supplement Rankquant with expert consultation.
Warranty
Rankquant's normalized scores are deterministic given the published methodology and available review data, but we do not warrant accuracy for any specific purchase decision. Review data underlying any score may be incomplete, outdated, or manipulated by third-party actors; our Bayesian-prior + outlier-detection pipeline mitigates this but cannot eliminate it. Use your own judgment.
