Summary
After her father is murdered by a hired hand, fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross hires Rooster Cogburn, a hard-drinking one-eyed U.S. Marshal, to track the killer into Indian Territory. A young Texas Ranger named La Boeuf, who is pursuing the same outlaw for a separate crime, joins the unlikely pair as they ride into dangerous country to bring the fugitive to justice.
