Summary
Harold Shand is a London gangland boss who has spent a decade keeping the city's underworld quiet and now intends to go legitimate: over an Easter weekend he courts American Mafia money to redevelop the derelict Docklands ahead of an Olympic bid. As his guests arrive, his organisation starts coming apart — a lieutenant murdered, his pub destroyed, a car bomb outside the church where his mother is at Mass — and he cannot work out who is behind it. With his composed partner Victoria and his bought policemen, Harold strings up his own men for answers before the Americans walk away. John Mackenzie directed the British gangster film from Barrie Keeffe's script.
