Summary

A French adaptation of Alexandre Dumas's novel directed by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patelliere. Edmond Dantes, a young sailor on the verge of marrying his beloved Mercedes, is falsely accused of treason by jealous rivals and imprisoned without trial in the island fortress of Chateau d'If. After a daring escape and the discovery of a hidden fortune, he reinvents himself as the enigmatic Count of Monte Cristo and sets out to methodically dismantle the lives of the men who betrayed him.
