Summary
In 1983, at the height of the Cold War, a Soviet cosmonaut returns to Earth as the sole survivor of a mysterious in-orbit incident. A young, unorthodox neurophysiologist is recruited to a secret military facility to evaluate him, where she discovers he is not alone-something came back with him. She must navigate the secrets of the regime while uncovering the truth about the creature and its bond with the cosmonaut.
