Summary
Set among the fish markets and seaside villages of Jeju Island, this South Korean drama is built as a chain of interlocking stories, handing the lead to a different resident every few episodes. Truck merchant Lee Dong-seok, boat captain Park Jung-jun, bank manager Choi Han-soo and fishmonger Jung Eun-hee grew up together, and old debts, first loves and family grudges surface as each is forced into a reckoning: a teenage pregnancy, an estranged mother's return, a twin sister kept hidden, a father's mounting debts. The market keeps trading around them, with the same haenyeo divers and vendors dropping from lead roles into the background of the next chapter.
