Summary
Set in 17th-century Joseon, the series follows Lee Jang-hyun, a wandering nobleman who claims to have no use for marriage, and Yoo Gil-chae, the sharp-tongued daughter of a wealthy family in the village of Neunggun-ri whose heart is set on her childhood friend Nam Yeon-jun. Their tentative courtship is cut off when Qing forces invade Joseon in 1636 and the village is scattered.
