Is Fleur de Thénac a good wine?
What reviewers say
“I seldom buy “good value” French Bordeaux-style wines but this came highly recommended by @Winecellar James Pietersen. I have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised. More savory than other tasting notes suggest, it had lovely aromatics of dark fruits, spice and cedar.”
From a top-rated Vivino review for this bottle.
Summary
A dark garnet, brooding wine with aromas of blueberry, blackcurrant and white pepper spice. The palate is creamy and has dark chocolate and caramel notes. The tannins are very fine and well integrated. Overall, the wine is very precise and the length is exceptional. Perfect with red meats, cheeses or exotic dishes.
From Bergerac in France, Château Thénac Fleur de Thénac is a red. It blends Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Its in-cohort standing is measured against 1,133 other reds from France, not against the corpus as a whole. 356 Vivino reviewers are calibrated for this bottle, and those are the ones the calibrated score reads; a separate, broader pool of 375 reviewers with at least two ratings each feeds the raw-average track.
