What reviewers say

I got 2 bottles of this wonderful Barolo and couldn't wait to open the first bottle. This 100% Nebbiolo shows a deep dark red in the glass and a great intensive bouquet raised up to my nose, with aromes of forest, leather, dried flowers and wood surrounded by a fine sweetness. The palate delivers a firework of flavors leaded by black cherries, forest floor, leather and sweet spices. A smooth body, elegant and well balanced with a long breathtaking finish. Song: Toni Braxton – Unbreak my Heart

From a top-rated Vivino review for this bottle.

Summary

Garnet red colour ethereal bouquet; intense tar with a scent of dry flowers, underwood, leather, truffles and sweet spices a rich palate; balance and mature tannins contribute to its harmony, distinction and intensity a remarkably classy, austere wine, with exceptional richness and tipicity.

Ascheri Barolo Sorano is a red from Barolo, Italy. It is made from Nebbiolo.

946 other reds from Italy form the cohort it is ranked inside. 322 Vivino reviewers rate with enough spread for a personal baseline to be measured, and those are the ones the calibrated score reads; a separate, broader pool of 328 reviewers with at least two ratings each feeds the raw-average track.

How the score was built

We compare the reviewers of this bottle against every other wine those same people reviewed. Each review is scored relative to the reviewer's own baseline — four stars from someone who hands out fives means something very different from four stars from someone who rarely goes above three. Every reviewer then counts the same, so the result is a calibrated consensus rather than a star average.

In-cohort percentile
The same comparison narrowed to its cohort — wines of the same type from the same country. A Chilean red is judged against Chilean reds, not against Champagne. Ranked against Red · Italy (947 wines).
AI-adjusted percentile
The same reviewer-normalized score, corrected for how much confidence the sample supports: thin samples are pulled toward the corpus average. Each wine keeps the share n / (n + 53) of its measured distance from the average, where n is its calibrated-reviewer count, and the result is ranked on the same scale as the global percentile.53 is the median sample size across everything we rank. Here n is 322.
