Summary
In 1960, burned-out American journalist Paul Kemp takes a job at a struggling English-language newspaper in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Drinking heavily and drifting between assignments, he gets pulled into a shady real estate scheme by a slick businessman whose beautiful fiancee captivates him. As the venture curdles, Kemp finds his voice as a writer determined to expose the corruption around him.
