Summary
After Confederate guerrilla Josey Wales sees his family murdered and his fellow soldiers betrayed by Union militiamen at the end of the Civil War, he becomes a hunted outlaw riding west. Along the way, the taciturn gunfighter reluctantly gathers a ragtag band of fellow outcasts and tries to build a new life on the frontier while pursued relentlessly by bounty hunters and the men who wronged him.
