Summary
In the chaos of post-WWII Berlin during the 1945 Potsdam Conference, American military journalist Jake Geismer returns to the ruined city and searches for his prewar lover, Lena Brandt, only to find her entangled with a black-market racket run by his own driver. As Jake digs deeper, he uncovers a conspiracy involving missing German scientists and Allied intelligence maneuvering in the early days of the Cold War.
