Summary
In an alternate England, three friends - Kathy, Ruth, and Tommy - grow up at Hailsham, a secluded boarding school where they gradually learn the unsettling purpose for which they were created. As they move into young adulthood, a love triangle complicates their bond while they confront the limits society has placed on their futures. Based on Kazuo Ishiguro's novel, the film is a quiet meditation on love, memory, and mortality.
