Summary

Kenneth Branagh's full-text adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy follows Prince Hamlet of Denmark, who is visited by the ghost of his murdered father and learns that his uncle Claudius, now king and married to Hamlet's mother Gertrude, is the killer. Torn between grief, doubt, and the demand for revenge, Hamlet feigns madness and schemes against the court, drawing Ophelia, Polonius, and Laertes into a widening spiral of betrayal.
