Summary
In the aftermath of World War I, a young Frenchwoman named Mathilde refuses to believe her fiance Manech died in the trenches after being condemned to no man's land for self-mutilation. Despite the official reports, she launches a determined, years-long investigation across France to uncover what really happened to him and the four other condemned soldiers.
