What reviewers say

Raisins, sultanas, cherry, and mulberry on the nose, first taste surprises with a nuttiness, and creme caramel edge that blends with the fruit. Pecan nut and peanut brittle blend with a butter toffee, and dried apricot. Sultanas are hugely in evidence, and the sweetness is so well integrated it is lost in the stewed fruit fudge finish that lingers, I was somewhat disappointed with the 2013, but 2014 is stupendous. This is a really lovely dessert. But you have to get the 2014. You'll thank me.

From a top-rated Vivino review for this bottle.

Summary

It has golden yellow. Fruit cake, dried apricot, honey and peach aromas. It is Concentrated fruit cake with honey and marmalade and a good sugar acid balance with a fresh, fruity palate.

Neethlingshof Estate The Short Story Collection Maria Noble Late Harvest is a South African dessert wine made from Riesling. It comes from Stellenbosch, in South Africa.

156 Vivino reviewers rate with enough spread for a personal baseline to be measured, and those are the ones the calibrated score reads; a separate, broader pool of 161 reviewers with at least two ratings each feeds the raw-average track. 1 other dessert wines from South Africa form the cohort it is ranked inside.

How the score was built

We compare the reviewers of this bottle against every other wine those same people reviewed. Each review is scored relative to the reviewer's own baseline — four stars from someone who hands out fives means something very different from four stars from someone who rarely goes above three. Every reviewer then counts the same, so the result is a calibrated consensus rather than a star average.
