Is Montepulciano d'Abruzzo a good wine?

What reviewers say

“3.6 / Easy drinking. Do not expect too much complexity. It is simple, well balanced red with good QPR (at least I bought it at $6) at discount. Good dense dark red colour. Mainly raspberry and black current in nose. Smooth palate of berries jam and red plum with moderate tannins. Simple but without any significant flaws. Once opened it appears to be a bit harsh but then softens with time and getting more and more smooth. Really not bad basic Montepulciano.”
