Is Appassimento a good wine?
What reviewers say
“Visually a dark ruby red color. On the nose I get whiffs of cherry, earthy leather, some herbal notes (eucalyptus?) and faint menthol (?). On the palate I get strong notes of red fruits, there’s some raspberries, a finish of pomegranates, the usual cherries soaked in oak/wood notes. It’s not sweet per se so I do not get vanilla but it’s very fruity and a silky finish. I like it more than the blue one from this brand. Finally, an Italian brand that rivals the Portugese in the QPR department.”
