Is Malbec a good wine?
What reviewers say
“As value for money goes, this is a hit. Not had a lot of French Malbec but will be returning. Quite a subtle nose, not giving away a lot but a medium colour gives a clue that there is something hiding here. Black fruits with a hint of sweetness, leaving a smooth finish. Great on its own but could pair with a lighter red meat dish.”
From a top-rated Vivino review for this bottle.
Summary
The first notes on the nose are of mulberries, and then develop on to reveal redcurrant and blackcurrant aromas. There is a bitter-sweet character of crème de cassis with a touch of underlying parma violets. Complex, fine red- fruit flavours fill the mouth, raspberries with a touch of buttery chocolate truffle richness.
