Is Methode Traditionelle Extra Brut a good wine?
What reviewers say
“12.5% alc. 4g/L dosage, 25 months on lees. Chardonnay/PN blend. Disgorged Oct ‘23, consumed early ‘25. Opens up nicely after about 30 minutes. Above average NZ sparkling - quite complex and balanced. Nose of yellow apple, citrus and chalk. On the palate, nutty stone fruit, honey and some minerals with a nice full chalky mouthfeel. Complex finish with yeast, yellow apple, hints of caramel almost.”
From a top-rated Vivino review for this bottle.
Summary
Creamy toasty notes are on the nose, with subtle brioche, straw and barrel derived aromatics. A full creamy palate follows. Pure and rich, its finish is long, dry and generous.
