Is Pauillac (Grand Cru Classé) a good wine?
What reviewers say
“Rojo cereza borde granate fruta negra boca potente con carácter tanino todavía sin definir acidez aceptable, mejorara en botella 4 o 5 años más”
From a top-rated Vivino review for this bottle.
Summary
Dark with good concentration, and the nose has a tightly defined fruit character, reticent rather than open, with a light sprinkle of chalk over some floral, black fruits. The palate has a very polished style, with a shell of fruit sitting around a core of very firm tannins which, although a strong component of the blend, do not over-ride the other elements.
Château Duhart-Milon Pauillac (Grand Cru Classé) is Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Pauillac, bottled as a red. At $84.92 for the lowest 750 ml listing, it belongs to the $60–120 band.
Its in-cohort standing is measured against 1,133 other reds from France, not against the corpus as a whole. The calibrated figure is built from 5,555 of its Vivino reviewers. A broader pool of 5,699 reviewers with two or more ratings feeds the raw-average track instead.
