Summary
Based on Janette Oke's novels, the series follows Elizabeth Thatcher, a young teacher from a wealthy Eastern family who accepts a post in the small coal-mining frontier town of Coal Valley (later Hope Valley) in the Canadian West. As she adapts to rugged prairie life, she builds bonds with the resilient widows and children of the community and finds herself drawn to Jack Thornton, a Mountie assigned to keep the peace.
