Summary
In the final days of World War II, the heavy cruiser USS Indianapolis delivers components of the atomic bomb to Tinian, then is torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in the Pacific. Captain Charles McVay and his crew endure days adrift in shark-infested waters awaiting rescue, while McVay later faces a controversial court-martial for the loss of his ship.
