Summary
In 1947, successful Hollywood screenwriter Dalton Trumbo is blacklisted along with other industry figures for his Communist Party membership and refusal to cooperate with the House Un-American Activities Committee. After serving prison time, he secretly continues writing under pseudonyms and front authors, churning out scripts for B-movies and eventually Oscar-winning films, while fighting to break the blacklist and restore his name.
