Summary
A documentary recounting the harrowing 1985 attempt by British climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates to summit the previously unclimbed west face of Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes. After a successful ascent, disaster strikes during the descent, forcing an impossible decision and a desperate fight for survival. The film blends dramatic reenactments with first-person interviews from the climbers themselves.
