Summary
On the eve of his 30th birthday, struggling New York theater composer Jonathan Larson races to finish his ambitious sci-fi musical 'Superbia' before a make-or-break workshop, while wrestling with self-doubt, a fraying relationship with his girlfriend, and a best friend navigating life in the shadow of the AIDS crisis. Adapted from Larson's autobiographical stage piece, the film traces the artistic and personal pressures that defined his life before 'Rent'.
