Summary
A mock documentary follows the disastrous American tour of Spinal Tap, a fading British heavy metal band, as filmmaker Marty DiBergi captures their botched gigs, shrinking venues, and absurd backstage mishaps. Band tensions escalate when lead singer David St. Hubbins's girlfriend inserts herself into management, straining his friendship with guitarist Nigel Tufnel as the tour spirals toward collapse.
