Summary
At a midnight summit in a Bronx park, Cyrus, leader of New York's largest gang, calls a citywide truce and proposes the gangs unite to run the city. When he is shot dead in the crowd, the Warriors — a small crew from Coney Island — are blamed, and every gang and cop in the five boroughs turns on them. Led by war chief Swan, with Ajax, Cochise, Vermin and Rembrandt, they must cross some thirty miles of enemy turf by subway and on foot to reach home by dawn, past rivals like the Turnbull ACs and the bat-wielding Baseball Furies. Walter Hill's stylised action thriller, from Sol Yurick's novel, plays out over a single night, tracked by an unseen radio DJ.
