Z-normalized corrects for reviewer bias (every reviewer re-centered onto their personal scale). Raw average uses simple mean across the broader pool including stddev=0 reviewers. The 20-point gap is the rating-inflation signature for this title — discriminating reviewers liked it more than the casual crowd.

Summary

When a plane lands at JFK with nearly all its passengers mysteriously dead, CDC epidemiologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and his team are called in to investigate. They soon discover the outbreak is not a virus but an ancient vampiric plague spreading through New York City. Joined by a Holocaust survivor who has battled the creatures before, they race to stop a malevolent strigoi master from consuming humanity.
