Summary
In 1859, a disgraced former army surgeon signs on as ship's doctor aboard a British whaling vessel bound for the Arctic. As the voyage descends into violence and treachery, he finds himself pitted against a brutal harpooner whose savagery threatens the crew. Stranded in the unforgiving ice, the doctor must fight to survive both the murderous men around him and the merciless north.
