Summary
Two career Navy signalmen are ordered to escort a young sailor from their Virginia base to a New Hampshire naval prison, where he faces an eight-year sentence for a petty theft. Taking pity on the naive kid, the two lifers decide to show him a good time along the way, leading them through a series of bars, brothels, and bittersweet detours on a journey up the East Coast.
