Z-normalized corrects for reviewer bias (every reviewer re-centered onto their personal scale). Raw average uses simple mean across the broader pool including stddev=0 reviewers. The 22-point gap is the rating-inflation signature for this title — discriminating reviewers liked it more than the casual crowd.

Summary

Set in 1960s London and Berlin at the height of the Cold War, this miniseries adapts Len Deighton's novel about Harry Palmer, a working-class British Army sergeant turned reluctant intelligence operative. Recruited out of military prison by a shadowy WO unit, Palmer is tasked with investigating the kidnapping of a prominent British nuclear scientist, a case that draws him into a web of double-dealing, brainwashing, and betrayal.
