Summary
A scholar moves his wife and young son into a New England country house to continue the research of a colleague who killed himself there. As the family settles in, the boy begins seeing a strange girl who warns him away, and they discover the cellar hides the tomb and dark secret of the house's original owner, Dr. Freudstein.
