The 16-point gap is the rating-inflation signature for this title — discriminating reviewers liked it more than the casual crowd.

Summary

In a near-future theocracy called Gilead, which has overthrown the United States and stripped women of their rights, fertile women are forced into reproductive servitude as Handmaids assigned to powerful Commanders. June Osborne, separated from her husband and daughter, is enslaved in the household of Commander Waterford and navigates resistance, survival, and the search for her family under a brutal patriarchal regime.
