Summary
In 1946 London, writer Juliet Ashton strikes up a correspondence with a Guernsey farmer and learns of the makeshift book club islanders formed under German occupation. Drawn to their story, she travels to Guernsey, where she uncovers the fate of the club's absent founder and finds herself reconsidering her own life and engagement.
