Summary
On the eve of his regiment's deployment to Sudan in 1884, young British officer Harry Faversham resigns his commission, prompting three fellow soldiers and his fiancee to send him white feathers as accusations of cowardice. Determined to reclaim his honor, Harry travels alone to North Africa, disguises himself among the locals, and secretly works to save his former comrades during the brutal campaign against the Mahdi's forces.
