Summary
In an experimental sociological test, the New Founding Fathers of America stage a 12-hour purge confined to Staten Island, paying residents to stay and participate. As violence escalates beyond what the government anticipated, a local drug kingpin and a community activist fight to protect their neighborhood from outside mercenaries sent in to ensure the experiment succeeds.
The First Purge is a 2018 action, horror and science-fiction film.
435 IMDb reviewers are calibrated for this title, and those are the ones the calibrated score reads; a separate, broader pool of 459 reviewers with at least two reviews each feeds the raw-average track. A second review pool sits behind it as well: 415 Rotten Tomatoes reviewers clear the same calibration test, and Rankquant scores them separately. Its in-cohort standing is measured against the other 13,058 2010s films, not against the whole corpus.
