Summary
Set in and around Times Square in the early 1970s, this HBO drama follows the rise of the porn industry and its intersection with the worlds of pimps, prostitutes, mobsters, cops, and bartenders in New York City. Twin brothers Vincent and Frankie Martino (both played by James Franco) and street-smart sex worker Eileen 'Candy' Merrell (Maggie Gyllenhaal) navigate the shifting economics of vice as legalization and corporate interests reshape the neighborhood across the decade.
The Deuce is a 2017 crime, drama and mystery television series.
Rotten Tomatoes carries a separate audience for the same title, 58 of whom clear the calibration test. Its in-cohort standing is measured against the other 3,235 2010s television series, not against the whole corpus. The calibrated figure is built from 161 of its IMDb reviewers. A broader pool of 173 reviewers with two or more reviews feeds the raw-average track instead.
