Summary
Two Los Angeles police officers in 1947, former boxers turned partners, investigate the gruesome murder of aspiring actress Elizabeth Short, whose mutilated body is found in a vacant lot. As the case consumes them, they become entangled with a wealthy, dysfunctional family and a woman who bears an unsettling resemblance to the victim. Based on James Ellroy's novel inspired by the real unsolved Black Dahlia killing.
