Summary
In Malegaon, a power-loom town in Maharashtra, video-parlour operator Nasir Shaikh keeps his customers coming by splicing together comedy and action reels, then decides to shoot films of his own: cut-price parodies of Bollywood hits made with borrowed equipment, friends as actors and the town itself as the set. His writer friend Farogh and would-be leading man Shafique join a crew whose ambitions climb from a Malegaon version of 'Sholay' toward a homemade superhero picture, while the money runs out and the friendships strain. Reema Kagti's Hindi film dramatises the real Malegaon scene recorded in the documentary 'Supermen of Malegaon'.
