Summary
Sam, a Kansas woman in her forties, returns to her hometown of Manhattan, Kansas, after the death of her sister and struggles to find her place. Working a dull job and grieving, she reconnects with an old high school classmate, Joel, who introduces her to a hidden community of misfits and queer locals gathering for a secret cabaret-style 'choir practice.' Through these new friendships, Sam slowly rediscovers her voice and a sense of belonging.
