Summary
British filmmaker Ali Tabrizi sets out to celebrate the ocean but uncovers the environmental impact of commercial fishing. Traveling the globe, he investigates issues including plastic pollution, bycatch, whaling, shark finning, and labor abuses in the seafood industry, and challenges the credibility of sustainability certifications and ocean conservation nonprofits.
Released in 2021, Seaspiracy is an adventure and documentary film.
Its in-cohort standing is measured against the other 7,929 2020s films, not against the whole corpus. A second review pool sits behind it as well: 40 Rotten Tomatoes reviewers clear the same calibration test, and Rankquant scores them separately. 243 IMDb reviewers are calibrated for this title, and those are the ones the calibrated score reads; a separate, broader pool of 275 reviewers with at least two reviews each feeds the raw-average track.
