Summary
Woody Allen narrates this ensemble comedy as a grown man recalling his boyhood in Rockaway Beach, Queens, around the time America entered the Second World War. Young Joe (Seth Green) shares a crowded, quarrelsome house with his parents, assorted uncles and his aunt Bea, who is still auditioning suitors, and every life in it is organised around the radio: quiz shows, breakfast chatter, a masked crime-fighter and stars nobody has ever seen. A second thread follows Sally White (Mia Farrow), a nightclub cigarette girl with a piercing Brooklyn voice and designs on getting on the air.
