Summary
In 2011 ETA announces the end of its armed campaign, and Bittori returns to the Basque town she fled after her husband Txato, the owner of a haulage firm, was shot dead for refusing to keep paying the organisation's 'revolutionary tax'. She wants a name and an apology, and the man she suspects is Joxe Mari, the imprisoned ETA member whose mother Miren was once her closest friend. The eight-part HBO España series moves back and forth across three decades to trace how two families who shared everything were split by the extortion, the killing and the village's silence, in an adaptation of Fernando Aramburu's novel.
