Summary
A safecracker framed for murder is sentenced to life in the brutal French penal colony of French Guiana, where he forms an unlikely friendship with a wealthy convicted forger. Together they endure harsh conditions, solitary confinement, and repeated escape attempts as the safecracker refuses to abandon his dream of freedom. A remake of the 1973 film based on Henri Charriere's memoir.
