Summary
Roman Polanski's adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel follows a young orphan in 19th-century England who flees a brutal workhouse and parish apprenticeship for the streets of London. There he falls in with the Artful Dodger and a gang of child pickpockets led by the cunning Fagin, while the violent burglar Bill Sikes draws him deeper into the criminal underworld.
