Summary
Uberto Pasolini's drama, inspired by a true story, follows John, a 35-year-old window cleaner in Belfast raising his four-year-old son Michael alone since the boy's mother left. Given only months to live, John works with a social-services adoption panel to choose the family that will take Michael, sitting through interviews with prospective parents in their own homes while weighing how much, if anything, to tell his son about what is coming. James Norton plays John and Daniel Lamont plays Michael, and the film stays inside their ordinary routine of window rounds, nursery runs, and bedtime, into which the interviews intrude.
