Summary
When veteran news anchor Howard Beale is fired for low ratings, his on-air breakdown and impassioned rant - 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' - turns him into a sensation. A ruthless network executive seizes on the phenomenon, transforming the evening news into a cynical entertainment spectacle while a disillusioned colleague watches the consequences unfold.
